Pharmacy Benefit Implementation Project Manager

The Role

This individual will play a critical role in executing Evolent Health’s mission by delivering on a mixed role of implementing pharmacy benefit programs, managing multiple projects simultaneously and acting as primary project manager to the Pharmacy Operations team.

  • Lead the project; develop and facilitate the implementation phase for all new client implementations and existing client reimplementation’s.

  • Manages both client and cross-functional (i.e., Evolent PBM Operations, Evolent Health Plan Operations, Key Partner Stakeholders, key vendors) operational teams to support all aspects of design and setup from initiation to project completion.

  • Serve as the main point of contact and is responsible for overall strategic design and tactically execution of implementation project.

  • Develop and execute mitigation plans for implementation/project risks and internal risks

  • Identify and manage project dependencies and critical paths

  • Ensure quality and service standards are met; including client contractual deliverables related to the implementation/project process.

  • Identify process inefficiencies and provide innovative solutions to solve for gaps

  • Provide executive-level updates and presentations to internal staff

  • Ensuring that project management approaches are consistent, measurable, and aligned with corporate standards and best practices

  • Ensuring project scope, schedule, budget, quality and associated metrics are available, accurate, and meet corporate standards and guidelines

  • Escalating risk and issue as necessary to ensure barriers are removed and projects meet their schedules

The Experience You Need (Required):

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business or other related discipline

  • 5 years of health plan or pharmacy benefit implementation or pharmacy project management

  • Proven ability to meet deadlines and effectively influence decision-making

  • Ability to lead multiple, highly visible projects simultaneously

  • Demonstrated ability to coordinate people and teams cross functionally to resolve complex issues within designated time frames

  • Intermediate to advanced skills with Outlook, Word, Excel, Project, Visio, PowerPoint, and SharePoint

  • Excellent client-facing and internal communication skills

Finishing Touches (Preferred):

  • Advanced “business” degree (e.g., MBA, MHA, MPH)

  • Certification in Project Management

  • Proven track record leading and developing exceptional employees

  • 3 years direct PBM implementation experience across Commercial, State Exchange, Medicaid and Medicare Part D health plans

  • Proven track record to work in complex, and ambiguous situations

  • Experience managing complex projects with various stakeholders

  • Effective communication, organization and time management skills

  • Critical thinking and problem-solving skills

  • Leadership skills
