Job Background/Context:

  • Citi Human Resources Shared Services (HRSS) provides HR shared services covering On-boarding, Employee Lifecycle, Off-boarding, Payroll and Time Tracking, Compensation Administration and Service Delivery as well as HR systems support. In partnership with HR, HRSS strives to provide excellent customer service through its product offering to employees and managers whilst focusing on process re-engineering and initiatives to enhance the Shared Services role in Citi

Job Purpose:

  • Payroll and accounting support is required to provide payment request processing, cost allocation, account reconciliation and payroll data consolidation, payroll end to end processing support in line with service level standards, embark on process improvement and streamline of services

  • The Payroll and Accounting Support Analyst 2 performs a variety of activities as listed below

Responsibility Composition:

  • 75% Production Activity (e.g. Task/responsibilities, Meetings, Risk/Control)

  • 20% Customer Activity (e.g. general)

  • 5% Re-Engineering (with participation in execution)

Key Responsibilities:

  • Performs end-to-end duties Lifecycle for mid to high-volume countries such as:

  • Monthly salary calculation

  • Tax & insurance payment

  • RBP accrual & payment

  • Y/E tax and insurance settlement

  • Quarterly dividend payment based on required payment date

  • Ad-hoc tax certificate request from employee

  • Annually CAP, DIRA

  • Deferred cash payment based on required payment date

  • Annually medical subsidy etc.

  • Acts as Subject Matter Expert for assigned process and possesses an advanced level of understanding of Payroll and accounting processes

  • Works as a queue coordinator to assign cases to people

  • Comes up with feasible solutions for the case issues

  • Resolves medium to complex concerns and determines appropriate resolution for the cases in accordance with established guidelines with minimum supervision required

  • Involves employee communications such as: employee/manager chasing emails and responding to basic questions on payroll and accounting, conducting research and investigation, disseminating or explaining information and responding to complex issues/concerns/escalations

  • Updates the Operations Manuals timely and accurately

  • Ensures timely closure of OSC cases for audit and policy compliance

  • Strictly adheres to Risk & Control policies and procedures (such as but not limited to: adherence to secure workplace guidelines, mandatory compliance training and identification/improvement of key risks areas) and reports possible gaps/breaches

  • Actively recommends areas for process improvement to the Team Lead

  • Provides support and guidance for payroll and accounting Analyst 1 and may act as back-up Team Lead

  • Provide informal guidance or on-the-job-training to new team members

  • Prepares basic metrics and status reports to customers

  • Able to effectively facilitate in Daily Team Huddle, Team Meetings, etc.

  • Bachelor degree or above

  • CET 6 certificate is necessary with fluent spoken English

  • JLPT Level 1 certificate is required for Japan related process with fluent spoken English

  • Knowledgeable in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Power Point)

  • Knowledge of payroll and accounting related systems

  • Knowledge of payroll and accounting business processes

  • 5 years or above working experience
