MAIN JOB PURPOSE:

The role sits within the Business Engagement Team responsible for enabling the Brilliant Brand Experiences pillar which underpins Unilever’s eCommerce agenda.

The successful candidate will be responsible for working closely with Business Analysts and market users to document, maintain and continuously improve the end-to-end user journey across all tools incorporated within the Global Content Suite, notably; Product Information Management, The Asset Bank, Keyword Repository, Product Content Portal and Clavis – a vital building block for Perfect Store Online.

The Product Owner will manage the end-to-end business process landscape in detail. They will need to have a deep understanding of business requirements globally and a hunger for driving synergies and simplification.

Working in partnership with Business Analysts, Delivery Managers and Tech Teams, the Product Owner will own the business demand funnel; chairing Business Design Forms, assessing and challenging new user stories, and managing prioritisation based on stakeholder inputs.

Critically, this person must be well connected within Enterprise and Technology solutions to continue to establish the Global Content Suite within Unilever’s broader digital ecosystem. Leveraging existing solutions and partnerships, the Product Owner should look to drive synergies and introduce a more streamlined (and holistic) digital experience for brand and eCommerce users.

This is a global project which will require the Product Owner to work with several markets at any one time; requiring both cultural sensitivity and a willingness to travel if required (no more than 10% of the time).

JOB SUMMARY

  • Build long-term relationships with eCommerce, Brand and Digital stakeholders (global and local).

  • Establish deep understanding of all 5 capabilities incorporated within the Global Content Suite (and any neighbouring ecosystems).

  • Create, identify and respond to opportunities to enhance the E2E user journey (both internal and external to the eCommerce ecosystem).

  • Initiate investigation and development of innovative methods to exploit IT assets to the benefit of the user community. Carries out analysis and develops proposal to leverage existing technology to deliver Unilever’s mission, objectives and strategy.

  • Lead a small team of Business Analysts to work closely with Geo IT to deliver user stories, prioritize sprint plans and develop the product roadmap.

  • Identify synergies between projects and change requests to enable more effective delivery and results.

  • Maintain business demand funnel in JIRA.

  • Work in close partnership with and hold internal and external teams to account for delivering the highest quality solution for end users.

  • Chair Business Design Authority.

  • Plan, organise and carry out consultancy assignments independently.

  • Contribute to the smooth running of the programme.

KEY REQUIREMENTS:

Essential

  • Experience in managing complex data projects and programmes (5-8 years).

  • Extensive knowledge of eCommerce and Digital solutions.

  • Strong appreciation of the process and data challenges faced in complex data projects.

  • Proven track record in driving process simplification across vast ecosystems.

  • Experience in the Application Development Lifecycle.

  • Ability to work alongside and influence challenging stakeholders.

  • Business partnering experience and excellent communication skills.

  • Demonstrated ability to deliver through others.

  • Proven ability to work as part of a global virtual team in a dynamic environment.

  • Experience in fast-moving/ entrepreneurial environments, particularly involving Digital and eCommerce.

Desired

  • Experience of working in eCommerce and/or Marketing.

  • Experience of working in digital innovation (particularly in content space).

  • Exposure to the 7 Omni Channel Assets.

  • Appreciation of IT landscapes and experience of working on a project which follows Agile methodology.

  • Strong self-starter. Able to take a high level brief and use contacts and information provided to seek detail, build understanding and make proposal.
