Shire Global Maintenance Specialist in Lexington, Massachusetts
Provides technical support for global maintenance and reliability programs and projects. Utilizes subject matter expertise in maintenance and reliability strategies and maintenance management. Supports the development, implementation and on-going support of programs, processes, and procedures to ensure business objectives are met. Areas of responsibility may include maintenance strategy, maintenance performance & execution, equipment reliability, spare parts management (MRO), integrated facilities management, shutdown management, utilities maintenance, and others as appropriate.
50%: Operational Support: Provides operational and technical support for maintenance and engineering systems/processes and reliability programs. Facilitates improvements to global engineering procedures. Provides subject matter expertise for maintenance and related engineering topics. Works with internal stakeholders to achieve optimum outcome for Shire. Monitors programs, identifies issues and opportunities, and recommends solutions.
25%: Global Engineering Support: Supports the development and standardization of global maintenance and reliability programs with focus on increased harmonization, efficiency and compliance. Collaborates with stakeholders to optimize programs and to ensure compliance with GMP requirements. May participate in global engineering networks and lead small teams with representatives from multiple manufacturing sites.
15%: Customer Collaboration: Effectively collaborates with customers to understand issues and opportunities and partners with them to drive improvements.
10%: Knowledge Sharing: Engages in environment for knowledge sharing and development within the engineering organization. Identifies best practices, promotes sharing and adopting, and recommends improvements to global standards in alignment with current global GMP requirements.
Education & Experience Requirements
Essential: Bachelor’s Degree in an engineering or business related field. At least five years of experience supporting and leading GMP maintenance and engineering programs. Experience in multiple areas of engineering such as reliability, maintenance, facilities, utilities, computerized maintenance management systems, MRO, or IFM.
Desired: Experience managing maintenance, reliability, facilities, utilities, IFM or MRO programs in a GMP manufacturing environment.
Domestic and international travel required 25%.
