Description

The Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) is seeking a self-motivated professional to lead Training and Development efforts. Primary qualities successful candidates will possess are strong communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills, the ability to build relationships and partner with business leaders, and a capacity to create, oversee and maximize creative learning solutions. Examples of Work

Lead the Training and Development Team with responsibility to serve as a strategic partner with agency leaders in order to proactively address learning and education needs; oversee, monitor and continuously improve all learning strategies and solutions to ensure programs, content and materials are relevant, accurate and effective; build a best-in-class training approach through proactive coaching and development of the Training and Development Team; and ensure learning strategies and solutions are created and delivered in alignment with the agency mission of "helping people live better lives" as well as agency values and core competencies.

Qualifications / Requirements

REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor's degree and experience in social sciences, human services, business/public administration, adult education or organizational development. Experience supervising, leading teams and demonstrated experience managing projects.

PREFERRED: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Instructional Design, Organization Development, Education, Business, Human Resources, Communications or related field. Experience in training, designing and delivering learning strategies and solutions and supervising a Training and Development team.

OTHER: Valid driver's license or the ability to provide independent authorized transportation for work-related travel.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Candidate will have excellent communication, organizational and interpersonal skills and be able to work in a fast-paced environment. Ability to be creative, proactive and "think out of the box" to identify process improvement opportunities. Skill in project management and simultaneously working with details and big picture ideas. Ability to work independently as well as on a team and with confidential information; learn applicable labor contracts, rules/regulations, DHHS policies and procedures to provide information to employees, supervisors and the general public. Must be reliable, responsible and dependable to job obligations with a willingness to take on responsibilities and challenges.
