Key Responsibilities:

  • Managing a Trade Surveillance Team of analysts on a day to day basis; ensuring that daily activities are completed

  • Supporting the ongoing development of team members within the Technical Surveillance Team

  • Oversight of and input into the tracking and completion of the variety of projects being led by the team

  • Conducting reviews of documentation that detail new surveillance requirements, enhancements and current surveillance coverage

  • Involvement in data analysis to identify and develop new surveillance requirements

  • Overseeing User Acceptance Testing completed by the team on new surveillance capabilities and enhancements ensuring business requirements are met and issues are dealt with and escalated where required

  • Representing EMEA Compliance Surveillance globally working in close partnership with Technology, Compliance colleagues and the markets business to proactively assist with the innovation of new surveillance technologies

  • Leading and contributing to the ongoing projects to develop and enhance the current suite of surveillance models, reports and tools

  • Proactive collaboration and communication with wider surveillance colleagues on the integration of surveillance processes

  • Working closely with the Firm’s Legal and Compliance staff in EMEA and globally

  • Commitment to continue developing knowledge of Financial Markets and Financial Regulation

  • Contribute to and participate in regular team lead meetings adding value where possible to other teams within the wider EMEA Markets Trade Surveillance group

  • The successful candidate will undertake a people management role overseeing a broad variety of tasks in a pressurised and rapidly changing regulatory environment, many of which entail direct and regular contact with a number of Citi businesses/functions and Compliance Officers globally. The role will provide opportunities for the successful candidate to develop into an experienced Compliance Manager with experience of the Citi businesses from a regulatory and compliance perspective

Knowledge/Experience:

  • Extensive experience in the financial services industry

  • Experience in market products gained in a trading, operations or control capacity is preferable

  • Strong knowledge of trade lifecycles/trade flows preferable

  • Experience in a control/compliance function beneficial

  • Exposure to/interest in in financial regulation will be advantageous

  • A strong analytical background is a must in addition to a strong technical aptitude

  • Previous investigative experience advantageous

  • Highly effective delivery skills with a proven record in successfully completing multiple key projects simultaneously

  • Highly effective communication skills with the ability to express ideas in a persuasive, confident, organized and articulate manner

  • Previous experience in an operations role would be highly advantageous

  • Experienced candidate with a proven record in leading and driving change

  • Experience in a people management role highly desirable

Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • College/university education preferred, but an exceptional working track record will be deemed equally important
