MAIN JOB PURPOSE:

The Consumer Market Insight (CMI) function’s mission is to inspire, provoke and drive transformation action. In this role, you will contribute to delivering the CMI mission by assisting the CCD CMI Director to business partner the Leadership team and help drive the strategy.

You will support the CCD CMI Manager for South Africa key business partners and leadership functions. This will include strategic understanding of Markets, Categories, Customers and Channels at the regional level. Along with CCD CMI Director, you will also be responsible for the management of our agency partner relationships an contributing into other strategic insight initiatives.

JOB SUMMARY

  • Support the CCD CMI Director to deliver a holistic insight plan

  • Support in identifying and landing cross country, cross category strategic research to shape the strategy and drive growth. For example as Retail and Channel trade and opportunities, demographic, economic, geographic opportunities.

  • Support the CCD CMI Manager to ensure all CMI deliverables are provided for the Leadership meetings

  • Work collaboratively with CMI Centre of Excellence to tap into the wealth of specialist capabilities within CMI as well as our partner agencies to maximise the impact from these specialist teams

  • Run consumer connection programmes to ensure that the SA hub keeps the consumer at the heart of everything it does

  • Identify growth and distribution opportunities through deaveraging channel and geography

  • Pricing and promotional insights though ongoing insight via Nett Revenue Management

  • Supporting the Customer Development team on key strategic growth pillars

  • Market insights and analytics for performance delivery

  • Key interfaces:

  • Agency partners (primarily retail panel, consumer panel and brand tracking agencies)

  • CMIE COEs: primarily Shopping Insight, People Data Centres (CDC), Country, Regional & Category BPI

  • SA Leadership team

  • Customer Collection Centre

KEY REQUIREMENTS

  • Relevant Degree

  • A minimum of 3 years of relevant work experience, ideally with a background in Research / Analytics

  • Advanced Excel experience and a high level of attention to detail

  • Confidence in working with Business Partners and solving problems

  • Ability to make independent decisions

  • Work collaboratively – ability to orchestrate regional and cross-category level work

  • Strong communication skills – both written and verbal

  • Outstanding organization skills to land the CMI vision

  • Develop work that has clear and actionable insights
