Position Description :

Provides both clerical and administrative support to faculty and staff in a clinical laboratory. Scheduling and coordination of complicated schedules, meetings, events, and appointments. Prepares and processes correspondence, check requests, completes travel arrangements and reimbursements as needed. Provides back up support for an ACGME accredited fellowship program. Is responsible for handling the coordination of patient consults. Orders and maintains office supplies and equipment. Answers and triages telephone calls, takes messages, and provides accurate and detailed information. Creates and maintains filing systems, takes minutes, makes photocopy and prints various documents. May be responsible for transcription. Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements :

Minimum requirements include a high school diploma or equivalent with 3 years of medical office / hospital experience. Knowledge of medical terminology helpful, ability to communicate with all levels of clinical and administrative staff. Excellent written and oral communication skills. Experience with computers and Microsoft Office skills a must. Ability to multi-task and work well independently or with as a team under pressure a must. Experience working in pathology or laboratory section is a plus.

Additional Information :

Candidate should have strong Outlook Office Suite skills, Adobe Acrobat Pro, Medhub (ideal), Cerner (ideal), Skype, WebEx. Ability to work in a demanding fast paced environment autonomously or as a team. Must be poised with a pleasant personality, neatly groomed appearance; ability to communicate clearly, consistently and concisely. Ability to read, understand and follow oral, and written instruction. Ability to sort and file materials correctly by alphabetic and numeric systems. Ability to maintain effective working relationships with physicians, patients, employees, and the public.
