Golder Associates Environmental Engineer in Richmond, Virginia

Golder Associates Inc. is seeking an Entry-Level Environmental Engineer to join our team in Richmond , VA office. In this role you will provide support for civil and environmental engineering projects. Responsibilities will typically include:

  • Performing field activities either individually or as part of a team that may include the collection of water samples, preparation of chain of custody and other documentation forms, implementing health and safety procedures, and oversight of related subcontractor services and other sample collection activities;

  • Performing field engineering activities related to environmental compliance coordination for active environmental projects;

  • Assisting with as needed data review and compilation, technical writing, and meeting internal Company quality control objectives.

  • Assisting with the development and distribution of field notes, meeting minutes, project action item lists, internal tracking of projects activities, and general project coordination activities in support of project managers;

  • Assisting in preparing and presenting to clients permit requirements and compliance schedules for environmental projects;

  • Assisting with the development and delivery of specific environmental permits relating to stormwater and surface water discharges, erosion and sediment control, wetlands, and other construction related permits;

  • Assisting in preparing studies, plans, specifications, response to regulatory comments, and other communications for civil and environmental engineering projects, and;

  • Perform regulatory permit reviews and research, and;

  • Attend regular client project meetings and participate in discussions relating to the requirements and compliance deadlines associated with regulatory permits.

If you are looking to begin a career in Environmental Engineering and possess the following skills and attributes, we encourage you to apply:

  • BS in Environmental (or Civil) Engineering from an accredited program

  • EIT is preferred. Golder expects that the successful applicant will pursue registration as a Professional Engineer (PE)

  • Fluency in common software such as Microsoft Office Suite, preferred exposure to GIS or Civil 3D, and other data analysis tools

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, as well as excellent analytical capabilities

  • Willingness to regularly perform field assignments under varying weather conditions and terrains

  • Willingness to travel. Golder’s global network of offices allows for many opportunities to work on projects locally and around the world. We often have pressing needs for staff to assist clients on national and international projects, and travel to assist on these assignments may be required (up to two weeks at a time).
