Description and Responsibilities

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

Responsibility to decrease safety recordables to zero by 2020. Acquire zero NOV (Notice of Violation) for waste water. Decrease PSQ (Product Service Quality / complaints) events and maintain SQF (Safe Quality Foods) compliance. Increase RTFT (Right the First Time) percentages and CSL (Customer Service Level) percentages along with inventory accuracy.

  • Develop and maintain qualified personnel within the plant Quality department. This involves organizational development, personnel assessment, training, direction and motivation.

  • Develop and maintain procedures which assure product and service quality including ingredient and packaging control, product testing and clearance, product disposition system and rework control, GLP (Good laboratory Practices), HACCP, weight control, manufacturing procedures, aged inventory policy and may include systems and sanitation audits.

  • Communicate and enforce Kerry standards in the areas of ingredient and product standards, process specifications, formula compliance, sanitation/GMP/pest control and regulatory compliance.

  • Develop and lead the plant Quality Continuous Improvement Program.

  • Provide technical support and direction to the plant to address process improvements and customer complaint corrective actions.

  • Investigate and introduce opportunities for new technology and efficiencies in the Quality function.

  • Manage the plant Quality Continuous Improvement projects within budget and within timeframe.

  • Improve Quality policies and procedures and introduce a structured training program to ensure compliance to standards, and sustain the improvements.

  • Act as the primary technical liaison with customers and vendors.

  • Attend all safety meetings, report any safety incidents/accidents and understand and follow all Company and Plant Safety policies and Procedures.

  • Complete statistical analysis of processes including process capability, gage R&R studies, and SPC

  • Conduct root cause analysis and manage the facilities corrective action program

  • Investigate and respond to customer complaints

  • Create and revise SOPs and SSOPs to ensure a safe and consistent product is produced

  • Lead sanitation and CIP activities and optimization

  • Lead 3rd party (SQF, Non-GMO, Gluten Free, etc.), customer, regulatory, GMP, and internal audits

  • Member of the HACCP team.

  • May serve as backup for the SQF Practitioner.

  • Performs other duties and responsibilities as required.

Education and/or Experience :

Bachelor’s degree (B.S.) from four-year-college or university; or seven to ten years related experience and/or training

Proven track record on leading teams to successfully enhance all quality KPIs sites by delivering Continuous Quality Improvement projects for Customer Complaint Reduction; Cost Savings.

HACCP Certification preferred

SQF 2000 Certification preferred

PCQI Certification preferred

Attendance of Better Processing School preferred
