Description

Tableau’s making a significant investment in our cloud strategy and our infrastructure team is expanding the shared services available to employees in the cloud while also managing our on-premise infrastructure. To build the future of cloud at Tableau, we’re looking for talented engineers and visionaries to help migrate our services to the cloud. As a member of our Core Infrastructure team, you’ll build applications and services in the cloud, write automation to support on-premise infrastructure and tooling, and provide end user support for the services we provide.

You will:

  • Create and implement automation for cloud platforms as well as on-premise infrastructure

  • Participate in architectural discussions to ensure solutions are designed for successful deployment in the cloud

  • Ensure all cloud infrastructure components meet proper availability, cost, performance and security standards

  • Design, implement and maintain server, storage, network and security infrastructure

  • Design, implement and test disaster recovery and business continuity architecture

  • Troubleshoot end user issues and respond to after-hours escalations when on-call

  • Other duties as needed

You have: #LI-BF1

  • 4-5+ years of overall infrastructure experience

  • Infrastructure as code experience using well-known languages and frameworks including Cloud Formation, Terraform, Python, PowerShell, etc.

  • Expertise in Linux and Windows operating systems

  • Experience with AWS and VMWare

  • Hands-on experience designing, building and implementing the following AWS services: EC2, EBS, S3, Glacier, Lambda, ELB, IAM, Service Catalog, etc.

  • Knowledge of and active participation in repositories such as GitLab, Artifactory and GitHub

  • Understanding of Continuous Integration (CI) tools like Jenkins, GoCD, or Bamboo

  • The ability and willingness to master new technology or languages as needs change

  • A desire to push boundaries, creatively solve problems, test new ideas and pursue out-of-the-box solutions to solve business and technology challenges

  • Strong communications skills – written and verbal

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, IT, related degree or equivalent
