The Surgery Distribution Tech -Materials Management under supervision of Material Management Director/Manager will demonstrate effectiveness in all facets of supply operations, to include but not limited to: processing of incoming and outgoing supplies, equipment, packages, and freight; perform inventory control procedures; distribute supplies and notifying Buyer of out of stock or low quantities on hand. Is responsible for the processing and distribution of supplies, weekly cycle count audits, ensures PAR levels for both perpetual and periodic materials are adequately maintained daily within the Surgery department. Places supply orders for upcoming surgical procedures, confirms availability of vendor representatives and related materials, equipment repairs, and will maintain a consignment tracking system. Continually updates Surgery department inventory in IMMS, resolves supply issues, maintains an implant log/book, and assists in the processing of new CDM numbers. Days and hours of work may vary based on departmental needs.
EDUCATION / TRAINING / EXPERIENCE:
Minimum : High school graduate or equivalent, with some advanced training. One year experience in surgical department or equivalent medical environment. Familiar with medical/surgical terminology and supplies. Knowledge of purchasing, inventory control, and distribution procedures.
Preferred : Hospital Materials Management experience (2-3 years); Able to effectively utilize/learn inventory control systems and other automated systems; Working knowledge of Microsoft programs and spreadsheets
