Communicates with vendors to obtain product or service information, such as price, availability, and delivery schedule. Reviews and analyzes purchase requisitions, develops sources of supplies, and reviews quotations. Interprets purchasing procedures to departments and vendors, as a specialist in assigned material categories, which require a degree of technical knowledge. This position requires the use of initiative and independent judgment.

Responsabilidades del puesto / Job responsibilities:

Interprets and communicates purchasing procedures to departments, and solves problems with orders

Resolves purchasing problems between department and supplier.

Interprets and executes MRP messages from the system

Follow up with Engineers regarding ECO’s which affect purchased parts for production

Make recommendations to change the source of materials for cost reduction

Follow up with Quality regarding rejected parts, to ensure timely delivery of good material to the production lines

Provide follow up and solution to invoice quantity discrepancies with receiving

Provide follow up and solution to invoice value discrepancies with AP

Follow the rules of our Quality policy, as well as the purchasing Ethics

Responsible to request documentation from the suppliers as established in the Environmental Management System

Interprets and communicates purchasing procedures to departments, and solves problems with orders

Resolves purchasing problems between department and supplier.

Active involvement with other departments to ensure the achievement of the company goals

Understand and implement policies and procedures of Quality Systems (IATF 16949), Environmental Management System (ISO 14001), Health Management System and Occupational Health and Safety (OHSAS 18001), Gender Equity Management System (MEG:2012) and any other system that the company may require for its operation
