Abbott Diabetes Care (ADC) is looking for a Business Unit Director Austria & Switzerland (ACH) (m/f), based in Austria. The role is to develop and implement in-country strategic plan that is aligned to DACH and division to drive profitable and sustainable growth for Austria and Switzerland.
Translates strategies into Country strategies and operations plans
Ensures alignment through country teams in sales and marketing execution
Co-ordinates regional IBP reviews and plays an active part.
Directly responsible for delivery of sustainable, profitable results through plan execution that support short and long term growth in Austria and Switzerland
Drives development of an overall business strategy for ACH that is visionary, aligns with DACH region and Division strategy, considers stakeholder alignment, timelines and within budgetary guidelines.
Work with the country commercial managers and functional leads to translate and adapt the business strategy into an operations plan/business model for the local market
Leverage the LBE to create meaningful, actionable country, individual and team goals
Create a compelling business case to acquire, allocate and sustain the necessary assets (people, materials, equipment) to achieve the current and longer term plan and strategy in Austria & Switzerland
Execute the plan: set KPIs, priorities and measurement/performance systems, manage resources, and make adjustments
Articulate the plan in a way that motivates and inspires the team to own and execute it, while continuously reinforcing Abbott’s culture.
Successfully interact with and influence a variety of external stakeholders in person (Key customers/KOLs, governments, regulatory agencies, associations, etc) as an ADC senior management representative; builds and sustains Abbott’s reputation
Hire, develop, inspire, encourage and retain talent
Navigate complex and changing compliance and regulatory environments; actively influence relationships with regulatory/compliance entities
University degree ideally in Business / Marketing, Science or related fields
7-10 years of experience and successful track record in Sales / Marketing in medical device as well as pharma industry
Managing commercial operations (Sales, Product Marketing, Payer Models)
Developing/implementing operations plans and strategy
Managing budgets as well as finance, operations, policy and compliance
Managing/leading across functions, geographies, cultures and/or divisions
Developing and coaching employees; highly effective people management skills including inspiring/engaging others
Working in a complex matrix management environment
Fluent in German and English
Willingness to travel >50% of time
