General Dynamics Information Technology (GDIT) is seeking a strong Data Analytics Analyst / PL/SQL Developer . Key responsibilities would be the following: develops, enhances, debugs, supports, maintains and tests Oracle SQL and PL/SQL code, including procedures and functions. Routine accountability is for technical knowledge and capabilities. Find, investigate, and map out strategies to correct data quality issues that impact identity duplicate resolutions; develops, inspects, mines, transforms, and models data to raise productivity, improve decision making, and gain competitive advantage. Conducts statistical analysis on data and information to ensure correct predictive forecasting or classification. Manages all aspects of end-to-end data processing utilizing customized report building functions of systems. Maintains analytical systems, verifies the accuracy of the data, and acts as liaison with business. Works under minimal supervision, with general guidance from more seasoned Subject Matter Experts. Typically requires 5-7 years of experience.
We are looking for a highly motivated developer with the ability to enhance, debug, support, maintain and tests PL SLQ tool scripts used to identify and resolve identity duplicates for a large database of more than 55 million records. Participates in the design, development and implementation of complex tool scripts. Candidate must be a self-driven individual, who can work on many concurrent projects and deliver results on each, whether working independently or collaborating with other members of the team. Role has potential for advancement for high-achieving individuals.
Role / Responsibilities / Key objectives
Ability to come up with technical design based on business requirements.
Design, develop, and maintain tools and scripts to help unit testing, development and QA.
Completes application coding assignments that meet provided technical specifications and end-user requirements.
Participates in the design process that generates application functional and technical specifications.
Documents application design specifications and implementation procedures to improve application quality and reuse of code.
Assists in the creation of unit, integration, function, and performance test scripts to improve application quality and ensure fulfillment of requirements.
Participates in both peer design and code reviews.
Other duties assigned by management.
Hands on coding experience with Oracle PL/SQL and performance tuning of SQL queries.
Experience with large, distributed, RAC databases.
Oracle stored procedure, packages, functions, ref cursors, dynamic SQLs etc.
Strong in debugging and looking at existing code for modifications.
3+ years of experience with Oracle PL/SQL development.
3+ years of experience with UNIX/Linux scripting & batch processing.
3+ years of experience using Oracle database.
Ability to work independently to research issues.
Ability to work with end users to troubleshoot production issues.
Ability to document solutions/processes as needed.
Must have proven strong analytical and problem skills.
Ability to learn new application from business and technology perspective.
Able to communicate effectively across varied area including technology, business units and leadership.
Demonstrated flexibility in a new environment.
It is preferable to at least have the ability to use Oracle’s command line product, SQL*PLUS.
