Sovereign Medical Radiology Technician per diem in Wayne, New Jersey

Job Descriptions:

Job Summary:

The Radiologic Technologist will assist the surgeons by providing and controlling the fluoroscopic radiology. Assures that C-arm is maintained in working condition and all supplies are in order.

The Radiologic Technologic will report to Director of Nursing/Charge Nurse.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Operate C-Arm for all fluoroscopic radiography cases as needed.

  • Report any technical problems to the director of nursing or charge nurse and follow-up with service technician.

  • Clean c-arms/aprons after use or once a week if not used.

  • Clean apron rack monthly.

  • Assist with purchasing of supplies needed for equipment.

  • Maintain all quality assurance State regulations.

  • Assist with emergency procedures as directed.

  • Must maintain a professional demeanor at all times.

  • Convey a caring and positive attitude towards patients, staff and visitors.

  • Adhere to all polices and set procedures.

  • Other duties as assigned to include traveling to other Surgicare center sites upon request to assist the centers with staff shortages.

Required Experience:

Knowledge, Competencies & Qualifications:

  • Must be licensed by the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection

  • Must have completed high school or equivalent

  • 1 to 2 years of experience minimum.

  • Ability to work well individually and in a team environment.

  • Ability to stand, bend and stretch in order to perform job functions

  • A good command of the English language

Associates Degree

Licensed by the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection

Working Conditions:

Work Environment

This position is located within the radiation department. The position requires a high level of patient and physician interaction and working in concert with the physicists, dosimetrist, technical and clerical staff.

Physical Demands

Medical environment demands include standing and walking extensively throughout the workday. May be required to assist moving patients from a gurney or wheelchair to a treatment or imaging table and vice versa. May be required to lift or move office/medical supplies. Universal Precautions: May wear protective clothing/gloves for personal protection and to avoid contamination of the environment.
