Reporting to the Director of Project Management, the Senior Project Manager is responsible for the delivery of a portfolio of corporate construction and renovation projects as assigned. Projects will include renovations, new facilities and/or expansions, which are typically of high complexity and client facing. The position requires a solid understanding of leasing processes, corporate workplace space standards, corporate office design related to agile work environments, project management, relocation management and construction.
Responsible for planning, developing, delivering and reporting on assigned projects within KPI’s and SLA’s
Management and development of options, to meet Client objectives
Management of a variety of consulting resources through-out all project phases including conceptual, schematic, design development, construction, deficiencies and project close out phases.
Working with consulting teams, and project delivery team members to develop and maintain master project budgets and timelines as required for each project and project phase to ensure implementation of overall project objectives and client needs
Contribute to the continuous improvement
Provide team leadership and input to best practices within the Project Management framework to ensure high quality delivery processes and tools
Executive reporting and presentations to internal Corporate Real Estate (CRE) stakeholders and Business Unit stakeholders
Responsible for communication flow and documentation control for all relevant project materials - working with supporting staff to execute/manage as required
Responsible for ensuring that project delivery is aligned with corporate standards and process.
Responsible for directly engaging or mentoring team members on relationships to service providers, negotiating contracts and managing day-day activities and performance of multi-disciplinary teams.
Coordination of furniture, fixtures and equipment and related vendors as part of the project delivery
Monitor site construction, and deficiency management, through consultant and contractors to maintain a high level of execution.
10+ years experience in leading Corporate renovation/construction/relocation projects
BS in Engineering, Architecture or Construction would be an asset
A Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM) and/or Project Management Professional designation (PMP) and/or LEED AP Accreditation would be an asset.
Managing multiple stakeholder expectations and conflicting priorities
Leadership in delivering results in a timely and professional manner.
Ability to manage multiple assignments simultaneously.
Management of construction projects and budgets
Estimating / forecasting skills.
Problem solving and conflict management skills.
Strong project management and organizational skills.
Proficient in MS Excel, MS Project, Outlook, Power Point
Experience dealing with internal and external clients in a service environment.
A proven record of accomplishment in leading a team of project management professionals.
Experience in construction including costing and standard practices/techniques.
Experience in contract administration and a good general knowledge of construction law and building codes
Strong communication and presentation skills in an executive facing role
A proven ability to manage resources which do not have a direct reporting relationship.
Change Management understanding and experience is an asset
