The Electric Tools and Work Methods Department is responsible for all electric tool purchases and work methods supporting all electric HVD and LVD field operational activities statewide. The team plays an active role in supporting all safe work practices and company safety policies and procedures.
Job Description/ Responsibilities
The Electric Tool Coordinator (ETC) will complete all electric tool purchases within federal/company procurement guidelines ensuring all policies and procedures are followed.
The ETC will monitor the Electric Tool Repair process as well as Annual Compliance Inspection and Testing programs to ensure they operate within the allocated budgets to support all HVD and LVD organizational unit requirements.
The ETC will work collaboratively with field employees, leadership and management to address all tool needs consistently throughout all areas.
Additional responsibilities of the Electric Tool Coordinator include but are not limited to:
Organizing, analyzing, negotiating and communicating written and orally with all levels of field operations, vendors and manufacturers.
New tool procurement of stock/non-stock tools requested by the various field operations departments.
SAP order/system processing/reporting and maintaining of online tool orders as well as communicating status of procurement and coordination of delivery as needed.
Frequent travel to company sites providing support and oversight on proper tool use, care and maintenance of electric tools.
Procure tools supporting pilots or evaluations.
Schedule/complete in-service or instructional training on proper use, care and maintenance of new tools.
Research new concept tools in support of safety and ergonomic needs or requirements.
Develop new work procedures/job aides/presentations in support of new concept tools.
Provide support for ACA and RCA investigations and become an SME in electric tools and work procedures.
Provide technical, non-engineering support services with accuracy, delivering on time and under budget utilizing lean concepts supporting the CE Way 4 Basic Plays (Lean).
Participate on collaborative teams such as Electric ERGO Team, Local Safety Guidance and Local Grassroots teams.
Conduct, support and/or participate in HQ visits, safety meetings, tailboards and safety site visits.
Provide support for storm restoration efforts statewide.
High School Diploma OR GED.
Bachelor's degree in a scientific or technical field with 1 or more years of experience.
An Associate's degree may be acceptable, if accompanied by a minimum of 2 years of Company or industry experience in positions that demonstrate required abilities and performance in a scientific or technical field.
Extensive Company or utility industry experience in positions that demonstrate required abilities and performance.

Hours and Travel
This position requires the individual to work a minimum of 40 hours per week in the office, specific field locations, and visits to vendor’s locations.
The individual needs to be willing to work additional hours as necessary to meet deadlines or assist with storm restoration activities and could be given very short notice to do so.
The individual will be required to participate in an on call rotation in case of potential storms.
The individual may work outside of assigned headquarters to help with restoration activities which may require overnight stays.
The individual could potentially work a flexible schedule to meet the demands of the customer, which may include evenings, weekends, holidays and overtime.
Individual must have a valid driver’s license.
