Healtheast and Fairview Health Services is looking for an RN at Woodwind’s Hospital in Woodbury, MN. This position is 48 hours per two weeks on the Night shift with an every other weekend rotation and a holiday rotation. This position is eligible for full benefits.

About this position - Cardiac Telemetry/ Medical Surgical/Orthopaedics 3 North

RN’s on the Cardiac Telemetry Unit are responsible to achieve and maintain our great patient care outcomes by coordinating holistic and compassionate care. This may include helping patients to set achievable goals for discharge, establishing and updating a plan of care, full physical assessment and post-operative care for our orthopedic patient population.

  • 26 Medical Surgical/Ortho private rooms and 8 Cardiac Telemetry private rooms

  • Patient population: total hips, total knees, spine surgeries, shoulder surgeries, general Med/Surg, general ortho, Med/Surg telemetry and cardiac telemetry

  • Ages 18+ Patient average length of stay is 2-3 days

Responsibilities/Job Description

  • Demonstrates commitment to principles of the patient care model (Professional Partnership Model) and achieving the HealthEast nursing vision and strategy.

  • Utilizes the nursing process, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation, to coordinate outcome focused patient care. Throughout this process, also understands and incorporates holistic nursing theory based on Watson's Theory of Caring aligning with the practice standards of the American Holistic Nurses' Association whenever holistic therapy is offered.

  • Communicates effectively with patient/family, physicians, the interdependent team, and other disciplines regarding the plan of care.

  • Assesses and documents learning needs of the patient and family. Develops an individualized education plan for patients and families based on identified needs.

  • Actively participates in creating and implementing improvements at the point of care to achieve clinical quality, customer experience, nursing engagement, and efficiency and effectiveness outcomes.

  • Complies with regulatory requirements, accreditation standards, board of nursing requirements, patient safety requirements, infection control practices, and other established practice standards, policies, guidelines, and procedures.

  • Coordinates the interdependent team while promoting collaborative teamwork and cooperation.

  • Actively participates in the development and achievement of department goals (safety, cost, quality, patient experience, employee engagement).

  • Maintains knowledge of, and complies with, all relevant laws, regulations, policies, procedures and standards.

  • Actively participates in creating and implementing improvements.

  • Performs other responsibilities as needed/assigned.



  • Associate’s Degree in Nursing with a letter of acceptance to BSN program within 6-12 months of start date as RN

  • Graduate of School of Nursing with successful completion of NCLEX prior to start date

  • Valid Basic Life Support(BLS)

  • Requires ability to provide written validation of current BLS competency

  • Valid RN Licensure from MN Board of Nursing or by start date in 2019

  • Must have completed 300-320 hours as a paid summer nurse intern at Fairview Health Services OR must have atleast one year of current RN experience in Medical Surgical/Oncology 3 South Unit at Woodwind’s Hospital.

  • Specialty certification required within 2 years of hire


  • Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing

  • Capstone or internship in Telemetry, ICU or Cardiac Telemetry preferred
